RCA Step 5: Action Planning
Once the solution is determined, the respective steps necessary to implement the solution must be layed out. It is at this stage that the RCA Process incorporats some key project management tools. The first is the development of the action plan. If the action plan is relatively simple, you can just use a table format that sets out: what, who, by whom, and how. If the plan is complex, the team may want to use more sophistacated tools such as gnatt charts.
Sometimes the actions must be delegated to organizations or individuals not on the team. In this case planning may be at a high level with the external organizations responsible for the more detailed implementation planning.
